We have compiled the answers to the most frequently asked questions about cleaning with dry ice and our dry ice blasting machines in Germany.

This is also possible. We have our own test cabin in the house. We will gladly provide you with our equipment after an appointment.
Due to the production in our own house, we can also realise special wishes flexibly and customer-specific.
The blasting units are generally available within two to three weeks.
All our dry ice blasting machines are manufactured in our factory in Tamm near Stuttgart and are therefore "Made in Germany".
You will receive the pellets in insulated/polystyrene boxes from your supplier. The durability depends on the ambient temperature and the insulation, but several days are possible. However, freshly pressed pellets are most effective in the cleaning process.
The costs vary depending on the supplier and the amount of the consignment. You should contact a local supplier for net cost per kg. As a rule, the gas supply is supplied by gas suppliers. Also a Germany-wide dispatch is possible from Südstrahl.
Our new table appliance consumes approx. 5 - 12 kg dry ice per hour. Depending on the model, up to 150 kg dry ice per hour in continuous operation.
When blasting with dry ice, always use protective goggles, ear protection, protective gloves, respiratory mask and suitable long protective clothing.
All our units work with pellets in the thickness 1 to 3 mm dia.
Dry ice evaporates residue-free, does not leave moisture, is non-toxic, odorless, electrically non-conductive, neutral and does not burn. Dry ice is pressed CO2 snow and has a temperature of approx. -78 ° Celsius. The snow is made of CO2 gas.
No additional blasting agent such as sand or water is required. The dry ice becomes gaseous and flies. Therefore, disposal of the blasting agent is not necessary. With the dry ice blasting, sensitive surfaces can also be cleaned since the dry ice has a lower hardness than e.g. Sand. The dry ice blasting process can be adapted to the properties of the workpiece by adjusting the jet pressure and the quantity of ice. Only the removed contaminant material can be regarded as waste.
The dry ice is controlled in a controlled air stream. Due to the enormously high speed achieved by the air-ice mixture in the jet nozzle, the dry ice hits the contaminated surface, freezes the dirt and blows it off the surface. The solid dry ice evaporates and becomes gas. The gas is non-toxic and neutral. The removed dirt is carried away by the compressed air from the cleaned surface. The dirt can be sucked or filtered.
